[Guelph, ON – March 11, 2021]

In conjunction with International Women’s Day on March 8, 2021, Skyline was the proud recipient of the 2021 HeForShe Impact award presented by the University of Guelph.

This award recognizes a business in the Guelph-Wellington region that actively promotes and improves gender equality, resulting in positive change within the organization and the greater community.

Skyline was recognized for its corporate policies promoting gender equality and its initiatives to share and celebrate the leadership and accomplishments of its female staff.

“We are proud to award the HeForShe Impact Award to Skyline Group of Companies,” said Lysa Porth, Dean of the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph.

“Skyline’s commitment to gender equality and diversity is inspiring and a testament to its leadership team. Skyline has made a significant and conscious effort to increase its gender diversity through various HR policies and initiatives. Congratulations, Skyline.”

As part of Skyline’s award, the HeForShe at U of G campaign is donating $2,500 to the Guelph YMCA/YWCA’s Safe Sisters program in Skyline’s name.

“We are honoured to be recognized for our efforts to champion gender equality in the Guelph-Wellington community,” said Martin Castellan, Co-Founder & Chief Administrative Officer, Skyline Group of Companies.

“Our female Skyline staff are leaders, experts, and heroes. We strive to raise awareness of their accomplishments, both internally among our employees and in the industries and communities in which we operate.”

In previous years, Skyline has celebrated International Women’s Day with a panel discussion held at its Head Office in Guelph, which is attended by all levels of the company, including the C-Suite. The panel is comprised of female Skyline staff, who share their business triumphs and challenges.

This year, Skyline transitioned to a virtual celebration of International Women’s Day by inviting its female leadership team to share their stories, advice, and unique experiences in a special presentation shared with Skyline staff across Canada.

Skyline also proudly sponsored a virtual International Women’s Day event presented by the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO): “The impact of COVID-19 on women: why, what, and how we should respond.”

“We are proud to highlight our incredible female staff on International Women’s Day—and all throughout the year,” said Deanna Kiar, Vice President, Human Resources & Office Administration, Skyline Group of Companies.

“We thank our female Skyline staff, and their allies, for everything they do to help Skyline grow and thrive.”
