[Guelph, ON – October 1, 2021]

On Thursday, September 16, 2021, Skyline held its 17th Annual Charity Golf Classic at Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton, Ontario.

More than 300 friends of Skyline, including suppliers, investors, Trustees, and staff, got together (safely) to enjoy golf, food, and prizes, all to raise funds to fight homelessness and mental health challenges across Canada.

The following week, from September 20-24, 2021, Skyline launched a week-long video series, Driving Positive Change Across Canada For Homelessness and Mental Health, to further raise funds for this worthy cause.

The videos can be watched at DrivingPositiveChange.SkylineGroupOfCompanies.ca.

Through both initiatives, Skyline raised a total of $175,000.

Skyline is using funds raised from these initiatives to help five charities in various cities across Canada in which Skyline has a large presence:

  • John Howard Society of Okanagan & Kootenay – Kelowna, BC
  • The Mustard Seed – Calgary, AB
  • HOPE House – Guelph, ON
  • St. James Centre – Montreal, QC
  • Harvest House Atlantic – Moncton, NB

“There has been a huge outcry for support for people experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges,” said R. Jason Ashdown, Co-Founder & Chief Sustainability Officer, Skyline Group of Companies.

“This year, in addition to reinstating our in-person golf tournament event, we chose to really showcase our five selected charities through a video series, so our audiences can really see how their donations are contributing to the fight against homelessness and mental health difficulties.”

Skyline chose these five charity partners by surveying its staff across Canada in some of the communities in which it has a large business presence. Those staff indicated that the chosen charities were making a meaningful impact in their community.

“It’s our staff on the ground in those cities who know their communities best, so we leaned on them to help us pick effective charitable organizations who are making a huge difference,” said Ashdown.

Skyline thanks each of its valued staff, investors, suppliers, Trustees, and all friends of Skyline who contributed to the fundraising through the golf tournament or through the Driving Positive Change campaign.
