[Guelph, Ontario – February 23, 2022]

Skyline participated in international Pink Shirt Day 2022 to raise awareness against bullying and cyber-bullying.

Skyliners across Canada celebrated the day by wearing pink shirts and taking the Kindness Pledge (an initiative started by a high school student in Fergus, ON), to spread messages of compassion. This was Skyline’s 10th year taking part in the Pink Shirt Day initiative.

Pink Shirt Day was originally founded in Nova Scotia in 2007 when a Grade 9 boy was bullied for wearing pink to school. Some of his classmates took notice and distributed pink shirts to all of the boys in their school to wear the next day in support of the student. Pink Shirt Day has now become an internationally celebrated movement for anti-bullying initiatives.
