[Guelph, ON – May 12, 2022]
On May 12, 2022, R. Jason Ashdown, Co-Founder & Chief Sustainability Officer, Skyline Group of Companies, participated in a discussion on homelessness and housing security at United Way’s United in Conversation: Understanding Homelessness event, which was held at Shelldale Family Gateway in Guelph, Ontario.
Jason spoke to the significant role that private businesses like Skyline can play in supporting projects and programs for eliminating homelessness.
The event was organized to address homelessness in the Guelph-Wellington community (Skyline’s hometown) and to have open, solution-focused discussions in order to foster more understanding, empathy, and action. At the event, United Way announced its new “Home for Good” Campaign. This campaign intends to raise $5 million through donations from individual donors, corporate supporters, and community organizations, to build homes in Guelph and Wellington for those experiencing homelessness.
The subject of homelessness and housing insecurity is very important to us – Skyline’s roots are in real estate, and we’re in the business of providing great places for people to live. We are proud to have our team members represent Skyline and offer insight into how businesses like ours can contribute to the housing solution.
