Skyline Group of Companies proudly took home the Community Service award for the second year in a row at the Investment Property Owners Association of Nova Scotia (IPOANS) 2023 Innovation and Excellence Awards.

IPOANS’ award ceremony is held annually to showcase excellence and achievement over the past year among residential housing providers in Nova Scotia.

IPOANS’ Community Service award commemorates above-and-beyond achievement in community service in Nova Scotia over the previous year, awarding companies that go the extra mile in helping their surrounding communities.

Skyline currently has seven properties in Nova Scotia, owned by Skyline Apartment REIT and managed by Skyline Living. The properties are located in Bedford, Dartmouth, and Halifax.

Skyline won the Community Service award for its many community initiatives in Nova Scotia. These include:

  • The 2022 Driving Positive Change video campaign, which raised $200,000 for five organizations fighting homelessness across Canada, including $40,000 that went to Shelter Nova Scotia, in Halifax, Nova Scotia
  • The 2022 Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser, where Skyline’s East Coast team raised $8,955 (with another $8,955 matched by Skyline) to fight homelessness, hunger, and hurt
  • Skyline’s 2022 Spring Hope Food Drive, where Skyline’s two Dartmouth properties finished among the Top 20 Skyline properties across Canada for food/monetary donations raised

Skyline recognizes that many East Coast Canadians were impacted by the recent devastating wildfires. In an effort to help those affected, Skyline has contributed to the Red Cross’ Nova Scotia and Atlantic Fires Appeal. Funds raised for this initiative will be used to assist those most impacted in the most affected areas of Nova Scotia and other Atlantic provinces. All donations are matched by both the Canadian and Nova Scotia governments, effectively tripling the funds’ impact.
