[Guelph, ON – July 12, 2021]

Skyline Group of Companies has been announced as a finalist in the 8th annual Canadian HR Awards, the leading independent awards event for the HR profession in Canada.

Skyline’s HR team is in the finals for the 2021 Gallagher Award for the HR Team of the Year (500 or more employees).

This award recognizes the most outstanding HR team of the year, in an organization with more than 500 employees in Canada, where the team has excelled within the HR function and across their business as a whole, by partnering with different business functions. The award focuses on the team’s collaborative approach to the HR function as a whole.

“Our HR team has the responsibility of facilitating recruitment, ongoing training, and employee engagement –just to name a few of its many functions—for all brands within Skyline Group of Companies, equating to more than 1,000 staff across Canada,” said Martin Castellan, Co-Founder and Chief Administrative Officer, Skyline Group of Companies.

“Not only are these team members a first touchpoint for new Skyline staff, they engage with our employees throughout their entire career journey and stand as role models for our Skyline P.R.I.D.E. values: Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Drive, and Efficiency. We’re proud to have our team recognized on a national platform.”

“Skyline’s HR service model is based on positive experiences, rather than transactional ones,” said Deanna Kiar, Vice President, Human Resources and Office Administration, Skyline Group of Companies.

“Over the past 12 months, our team has introduced new programs and training for staff to keep them engaged, informed, and excited to come to work every day. Our HR team is comprised of exceptionally talented people, and we thank the Canadian HR Awards for recognizing our efforts and placing us in the finals.”

Presented by HRD Canada and Canadian HR Reporter magazine, the Canadian HR Awards recognizes HR teams, individuals and employers for their outstanding achievements, leadership, programs and initiatives in the field of HR over the past 12 months.

Winners will be selected by an independent judging panel of industry experts and then revealed at the celebratory virtual awards show happening September 15, 2021.

This is Skyline’s second time in the finals for the Canadian HR Awards. In 2020, it was a finalist for the Seneca Award for Best Learning & Development Strategy for its efforts on keeping Skyline’s teams trained and informed in uncertain times.
