Skyline participated in international Pink Shirt Day 2023 to raise awareness against bullying and cyberbullying.
Skyliners across Canada celebrated the day by wearing their pink Skyline t-shirts and spreading messages of compassion and kindness. This was Skyline’s 11th year taking part in the annual event. Pink Shirt Day was originally organized in 2007 in Nova Scotia after a Grade 9 boy was bullied for wearing pink to school.
Some of his classmates took notice and distributed pink shirts to all the boys in their school to wear the next day in support of the student. Pink Shirt Day has now become an internationally celebrated movement for anti-bullying initiatives, with more than 110 countries participating in events in 2022.
We encourage all friends of Skyline to ‘Lift Each Other Up’ in support of the anti-bullying movement.
