Development has begun on a new 142-suite rental apartment building at 1200 & 1250 Southfield Drive in Tecumseh, Ontario.
SkyDev, the property’s developer, held a private groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, to celebrate the kick-off of the development’s construction. The event was attended by Mayor McNamara of Tecumseh, as well as Deputy Mayor Joe Bachetti and Ward 3 Councillor Rick Tonial.
The new development, called Southfield Green, is owned by Skyline Apartment REIT. Once the development is complete, the complex will be managed by Skyline Living, which currently manages 299 suites across three buildings in Tecumseh, including 11873 and 11917 Tecumseh Road East, adjacent to the new development site.
SkyDev, Skyline Apartment REIT, and Skyline Living all operate under Skyline Group Of Companies, based in Guelph, Ontario.

The site is well located within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and transit. The suites will boast fantastic views of the adjacent Southfield Park.
The development will also have several environmental features, including on-site EV chargers and a community garden.
