Skyline has been recognized by Rental Housing Providers of Nova Scotia (RHPNS) with two 2026 Innovation and Excellence awards, honouring outstanding community service and rental leasing performance.
Community Service award
Skyline received the 2026 Community Service award, recognizing our structured, nationwide approach to charitable giving, partnerships, fundraising, and volunteerism.
Our community initiatives continue to focus on addressing housing and food insecurity as well as mental health challenges, issues that directly affect residents and communities across Nova Scotia and Canada. In 2025, our charitable initiatives in Nova Scotia included fundraising for Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, food donations to Feed Nova Scotia, and support for HomeBridge Youth Society through funding, professional in-kind services, and volunteering.
“As a rental housing provider, we see firsthand how closely housing stability is connected to broader community well-being,” said Jason Ashdown, Skyline’s Co-Founder and Chief Sustainability Officer.
“This award reflects the commitment of our teams to give back in meaningful ways and to support the communities our residents call home.”
Leasing Person of the Year: Gaelyn Mcleod, Lifestyle Rental Consultant – Halifax, Skyline Living
Gaelyn received the 2026 Leasing Person of the Year award in recognition of her outstanding leasing performance, resident-focused approach, and positive impact across Skyline’s seven Halifax-area communities totalling 701 suites. She delivered exceptional results in 2025, supporting strong resident retention while consistently attracting new applicants across the Halifax portfolio.
“Gaelyn continually sets a high standard for what thoughtful, resident-centred leasing looks like,” said Maria Duckett, Skyline’s Vice President, National Property Operations.
“Her ability to combine strong performance with genuine care for our residents and communities has had a measurable impact, and her recognition among the best of the best in Nova Scotia’s rental housing industry is very well deserved.”
RHPNS is Nova Scotia’s rental housing industry association and “positive voice for landlords,” representing the province’s rental housing owners and managers. It collaborates with industry stakeholders including all levels of government to ensure policy initiative outcomes result in a balanced and competitive marketplace.
Skyline has been previously recognized by RHPNS with the Resident Manager of the Year award (Karen Chase, 2025), Industry Leadership award (BJ Santavy, 2024), Community Service award (2022), and Property Manager of the Year award (Ashley Morine, 2021).
